These Tips Will Reduce Holiday Stress

It's that time of year again where the majority of Americans shift into Holiday Mode. We often look forward to some time off work and more time spent with family! Although there are many great memories, enjoyable meals and surprise gifts during this time, there is also a spike in stress levels according to a 2023 poll by the American Psychological Association.

This poll found that two in five people (41%) said their stress increases during this time compared with other points in the year. The majority of the stress was rooted in increased financial pressure and family relationships. While some people have developed uplifting practices to overcome these stressors, others sometimes choose negative coping mechanisms that lead to more serious problems.

Here are some tips to help manage holiday stress...

  1. Set a budget and manage time and money spent on purchasing gifts.
  2. Make the most of time shared with others but don't over extend yourself.
  3. Practice healthy daily habits that support your well-being.
