Since the dawn of AI, it has raised as much concern as it has intrigue. From the recent college graduate who struggles to find a relevant job to the once highly paid software programmer, there are plenty of questions regarding what the future holds for us all in this reality that is racing towards AI implementation. This uncertainty is sure to lead to increasing levels of stress unless we have a plan for addressing and dissolving that angst.
Some of the stressors will be related to finance, others may come from increased surveillance, while some stressors are likely to come from reduced human connection. AI has the potential to effect many aspects of our daily lives and if left unchecked could do harm to our well-being. However, with awareness of this potential issue we will consider some things we can do that will help mitigate any related sources of stress.
If your arising stress is in part due to social media, digital news or other online influences then a digital detox for some period of time could be helpful for restoring your mental calm. If you are worried that your job is about to be replaced by AI try to get ahead of it by considering other income streams you can start creating that are less likely to be threatened by AI. If you are spending most of your time relying on AI tools and are concerned about declining cognitive function then set limits to your use of these tools so that you don't become overly dependent.
These are just some considerations for dealing with the stress of the modern day technological revolution. Some other effective ways of dealing with stress include deep breathing, daily exercise and spending time in nature.
